Dipl.-Biologe Pascal Kriwy

Stationsleiter der RSEC Feldstation El Quseir

Pascal hat den Master am Max-Planck Institut in Bremen absolviert mit Schwerpunkt auf die Korrelation der mikrobiologischen Parameter und der Wasserqualität am Grossen Barriere Riff (Australien) in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS).
Als Stationsleiter des RSEC freue ich mich meine Kenntnisse in Meeresbiologie und Ökologie zu erweitern. Ebenso möchte ich lokal dazu beitragen, Volontären und Studenten eine Plattform anzubieten um individuelle Projekte und Diplomarbeiten ermöglichen zu können. Mithilfe von Vorträgen und Biologen geführten Tauchgängen wünsche ich mir ebenfalls ein breites Publikum anzusprechen und für Natur und Umwelt zu sensibilisieren.

Hendrik Bandmann

Volontär an der Feldstation El Quseir

Hendrik Bandmann wurde am 12. 05. 1950 in Bonn geboren und war bis vor Kurzem Lehrer in Rheinlandpfalz für Naturwissenschaften und  für Technik. (Lehrbefähigungen auch für Schwimmunterricht - Ethik - PidS - ITG).
Angeregt durch einen Film: Letzte Tage im Paradiese (Rotes Meer) habe ich mit Dr. Robert Hofrichter Kontakt aufgenommen und mit ihm im Februar in El Quseir an einem Lifestyle-Seminar teilgenommen, dass ich jedem an Ägypten Interessierten nur empfehlen kann. In dieser Zeit habe ich den Entschluß gefasst in El Quseir zu leben und das RSEC zu unterstützen. Ob das gelingt wird das nächste Jahr zeigen.

Martin Prader

Volontär an der Feldstation El Quseir

Martin studierte in Innsbruck Zoologie / Limnologie / Meeresbiologie und ist seit 2006 Lehrer an Mittel- und Oberschulen in Italien (Südtirol). Als  Volontär beim RSEC möchte er sein Wissen über Meereskunde an andere weitergeben und sein eigenes Fachwissen erweitern. Eines seiner großen Hobbies ist die Photographie, ober und unter Wasser.

  Lydia  

Lydia Köhler

Volontärin an der Feldstation El Quseir

Lydia studiert Biologie in Kiel. Momentan arbeitet sie an ihrer Diplomarbeit über den Nachweis von Sprengstoffen in Miesmuscheln. Lydia ist bereits das dritte Mal beim Reef Monitoring des RSEC dabei und hilft dieses Jahr als Trainer in Quseir und Dahab aus bis sie dann im Oktober wieder zurück ins Labor muss.

  Nils Jobstvogt  

Niels Jobstvogt

Volontär an der Feldstation El Quseir

Niels studied Biology at the „Freie Universität Berlin“ and specialized on marine ecology and fisheries biology. In May 2010 he finished his thesis on the wahoo, Acanthocybium solandri, a top-predator from the tropics. The project was carried out in the Galapagos Islands in cooperation with the Charles Darwin Foundation.
His interest in marine ecology led him to the RSEC in Egypt where he is participating in the annual Reef Monitoring project. Besides taking data, he will analize the findings and help to evaluate the current state of the coral reef community of several often frequented dive sites in the area. Part of his job is also to inform tourist in the nearby hotel resorts about the importance of coral reefs and the threats they are facing.
Apart from insights in the Reef Check methodology he gets the opportunity to further develop his skills in fish and coral taxonomy. His personal interst in the RSEC is the strong conectivity of tourism and environmental eduaction.

Carla Soler Carreras

Volontärin an der Feldstation El Quseir

Carla is a biologist and has a Master in Marine Science at the University of Barcelona, where she specialized on fisheries.  She joined the RSEC because she wanted to visit the Red Sea, dive in it and learn about their corals and their related biodiversity.  She is actually working as a biology teacher at secondary school in Barcelona, where she lives.

Hallo, Ich bin der Philipp und Ich studiere Biologie an der Universität Wien. Ich bin für 4 Wochen auf der RSEC Feldstation in El Quseir um beim Reef Check Projekt zu helfen und um mehr über Marine Lebensformen und die Biodiversität im Roten Meer zu lernen. Und natürlich um eine tolle Zeit in Ägypten zu verbringen.

Isabel Schurgacz

Isabel ist eine der seltenen Spezies der Nicht-Biologen hier am RESC. Sie ist Produktdesignerin in München und  liebt die Natur und das Tauchen. Als Volontärin am RSEC möchte Sie mehr über Meeresbewohner im Roten Meer lernen und freut sich dabei ein Umweltprojekt unterstützen zu können.
