Reef Biology – Courses and Seminars
The Red Sea Environmental Centre (RSEC) is pleased to present its new and varied programme on reef biology. As is valid for all our courses & seminars, you will see and learn more about the coral reefs of the Red Sea. For example, from experiencing plankton organisms under the microscope to observation of nocturnal feeding of stony corals in the open water. In addition to our classical courses, we offer new seminars and lectures in our revised programme. All our arrangements consist both of a theoretical and a practical part. During the courses we accompany your dives by guiding you through the coral gardens and making this informative and exciting events for you. In the seminars, we provide you with underwater sheets and little tasks to enhance your understanding of how a coral reef works. Bring along your own underwater photographs and we will help you evaluate them. Please find here an overview of our courses.

All our arrangements are suited not only for divers but also for snorkelers. If you wish to book as a group, e.g. dive club, student group or regulars’ table, we can make you a special offer. All the above prices are understood exclusive of accommodation and diving. Please send your request to office.dahab(at)redsea-ec.org.

Professionals
Newly, we also offer courses and seminars for dive professionals, i.e. basic or advanced reef biology for divemasters and dive instructors. These arrangements are also available for the complete staff of a dive centre and can even be given outside of Dahab. Duration and price of an arrangement by agreement. Please feel free to contact us for more details: office.dahab(at)redsea-ec.org

Reef Check EcoAction Program at RSEC
Since autumn 2006 Reef Check offers two new specialties within the framework of its EcoAction Program: Discover Reef Check and Reef Check EcoDiver. Both specialties communicate the most important facts about the Reef Check method, global threats to coral reefs and their present state, as well as possible measures for their protection and conservation. The Reef Check EcoDiver, a 3-day-arrangement, also familiarizes you with a variety of indicator species (such as various fishes, corals and other invertebrate species). The specialty is accredited by PADI, NAUI and shortly also by SSI. Both specialties are offered to you at the Red Sea Environmental Centre (RSEC) in Dahab.

What’s more, we will provide you with the corresponding documents, such as the ”EcoMonitoring Scientific Field Guide“, the ”EcoMonitoring Instruction Manual“ and the ”Starter Kit“, and you can also obtain T-shirts from us.
